ALTA BADIA IN SOUTH TYROL
Holiday in Val Badia and La Villa
Alta Badia is one of the original centres of the Dolomites, located in the southern Val Badia. The region is characterised by its unique nature, traditional villages and the majestic peaks of the Dolomites. Alta Badia encompasses the villages of Corvara, Colfosco, La Villa, San Cassiano, Badia and La Val.
Alta Badia is also well-known for the annual World Cup race held on the Gran Risa, and for the internationally renowned Dolomites Marathon cycle race.
Alta Badia is a popular winter resort, and is also part of the Dolomiti Superski ski carousel. In summer our guests enjoy one of the most beautiful areas in South Tyrol, with views of many famous mountain peaks such as the Sella Massif and the Sassongher, or they visit the Puez and Fanes-Sennes-Prags nature reserves.
Hotel Christiania is nestled amidst the beautiful natural backdrop of the village of La Villa. The picturesque La Villa is located in the municipality of Badia at an altitude of 1,483 metres, and is right in the heart of Val Badia at the foot of Piz la Ila and Gardenazza. The historic part of La Villa includes the ancient Ciastel Colz castle and the village church.
Ciastel Colz dates back to the 16th century, and is situated on a steep ledge just a short walk from the hotel. Following its restoration, Ciastel Colz has become a cultural meeting place.
The Gran Risa is a world-famous downhill ski slope used in alpine ski events. Located in the immediate vicinity of our hotel in La Villa, it is regarded as one of the most difficult courses in the international Alpine Skiing World Cup.
